In June of 2020, we’ll be travelling to the UK’s south coast to Brighton, a vibrant seaside town full of quirky streets and Regency buildings and known as ‘London by the sea’.
We’ll be joined by iconic fashion designer Christine Mayer who will show you how to liberate your wardrobe and create original items of clothing that fit like a glove during the 9-day retreat.
Our days will be spent in a Regency Townhouse, working directly on a dress form you’ll learn to express your personal style through repurposing old garments in an artful and original way using stitch and Japanese draping techniques. We have a few special trips out planned and at the end of the week, we’ll visit the nearby historic town of Rye to visit dressmakers Merchant & Mills.
Accommodation for the week is in a charming Georgian hotel, overlooking Regency Square and the sea beyond.
No specialist dressmaking skills required to join the retreat, we hope to see you there.
