The Textile Retreat Company has a wonderful programme of tours and retreats for anyone who loves textiles, learning new skills and meeting like-minded people.

Led by the experienced team at Chateau Dumas, who’ve run creative workshops in France for the past 14 years, the Textile Retreat Company bring their insider knowledge of artists and venues to an original programme of carefully curated textile-themed retreats and tours in Britain.

On a creative retreat you’ll find yourself working alongside a leading textile artist in a supportive and intimate environment within a beautiful setting. Our retreats are held in well-appointed and beautiful old English country houses with a private chef to prepare meals and a friendly team to look after you each day. Trips might include a visit to a garden, a pretty historic village, a local artist studio or a place of interest to textile enthusiasts.

There is usually at least one creative session included in our tours but the real focus is on introducing you to the work of prominent textile artists, both present and past, and allowing you to examine and explore their work first-hand through a series of private visits and behind the scene tours. You’ll stay in a stylish hotel and join daily visits to artists studios, private exhibitions, museum collections and other venues of interest.
