Register your interest for Cocoknits in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, UK
Monday 22 April - Tuesday 30th April 2024
Our first Cocoknits ‘terroir’ knitting retreat for 2024 will take place in picturesque Cornwall, UK. This 8 night/9 day retreat will run from Monday 22 April - Tuesday 30th April 2024.
We’ll travel down from Richmond by coach calling in at Blacker Yarns to pick up our pre-ordered yarn before touring the Natural Fibre Company, the only British company that spins both wool and worsted yarns under the same roof.
We’ll stay for the week in a small boutique hotel in Carbis Bay, the Boskerris Hotel, which lies just outside the seaside town of St Ives, a pretty town built on a narrow peninsula fringed with sandy beaches. Radiating out from the idyllic harbour are a maze of quaint cobbled streets lined with fishermen’s cottages. Our comfortable hotel has a large deck with commanding views over the Atlantic ocean.
St Ives is famous for its thriving arts scene. The sculptor Barbara Hepworth lived and worked here and her former studio and garden are open to the public. The wonderful Tate St Ives is an art gallery exhibiting work by modern British artists with links to St Ives. There are art galleries, independent shops and cafés in the town itself.
We’re still working on the details of this retreat, but we’re planning to include:
5 days full-time knitting tuition with Cocoknits’ founder Julie Weisenberger and expert knitter Tracy Russell
8 nights accommodation at the Boskerris hotel in Carbis Bay
8 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 8 dinners with wine included
Unlimited tea and coffee
Coach transport to/from Richmond-upon-Thames to the Boskerris hotel and local transport
Excursion to Blacker Yarns, specialists in breed-specific British wool yarn spun under one roof in their Cornish mill
Tour of the mill at the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston
Entrance to the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden
Further excursions to be announced
Prices range from £3850 (twin occupancy) to £4200-£4700 (single occupancy ensuite). Non-participating partners £1800.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a very popular retreat and we have already had a lot of enquiries. We are hoping to run it again in 2025, but no dates have yet been agreed.
